Terms and conditions


General terms and conditions of Picotronic GmbH, hereinafter referred to as “Picotronic”,, version 09/2016

The following General Terms and Conditions apply exclusively to sales of Picotronic via the respective Internet platforms and, in this context, only in the publicly accessible store area.

1. Conclusion of a contract

The contract is only concluded with the acceptance of the order; the order is accepted by sending an order confirmation.

2. Delivery

IThe productss are shipped from the Koblenz warehouse to the delivery address specified by the customer. The delivery period is generally less than 5 days from receipt of the order confirmation. This period is non-binding, unless otherwise agreed. Claims for damages due to delayed delivery cannot be asserted. We have no liability for force majeure or other events in our own or subcontracting operations that are beyond our control and prevent delivery. We are entitled to extend an agreed on delivery period or withdraw from a delivery agreement. Agreements regarding binding delivery times require our express written confirmation.

3. Prices

The prices shown on the homepage apply. We reserve the right to change prices due to mistakes and technical errors. If the price is incorrect, we will not send the order without prior customer consent. The prices include German sales tax (VAT), less Dealer discount plus shipping costs. Current shipping costs can be obtained from us prior placing the order.

4. Payment

As payment method, we offer the option of prepayment or invoice. The option of payin on account is reserved for universities, state institutions, companies and corporations with a general reputation, as well as our regular customers. If prepayment is chosen as the method of payment, the purchase price in full plus shipping costs must be received in the specified account within 10 days of the conclusion of the contract.

5. Retention of title

The products you have ordered remain the property of Picotronic until they have been paid in full.

6. Warranty

You are obliged to notify us immediately of obvious defects to your products, including transport damage, but no later than 3 business days after receiving your order. If this period is missed, warranty rights due to an obvious defect are excluded. In the case of justified complaints of obvious defects within 3 working days after delivery, we have the right to choose whether to repair or replace the products free of charge. If the improvement or replacement delivery fails, you can choose to either request a reduction in payment or cancellation of the contract.

7. Shipping costs

Current shipping costs can be requested from us prior placing the order.

8. Data protection

The order process requires the collection of personal data. The data are processed in accordance with the BDSG.

9. Returns

Products that are no longer desired must be canceled by email. Unfortunately, we will refuse to accept returns that we receive freight collect. Please contact us before returning the product. We use DHL and UPS as transport service providers. We kindly ask you to have returns carried out by DHL and UPS; on request we will send you a free return label. For price reasons, the costs of other modes of transport can only be reimbursed up to the amount of the costs incurred by shipping by DHL and UPS (according to the currently valid price list). We will give you a corresponding credit immediately after receipt and inspection of the products, taking into account our terms and conditions. The credit amount will be refunded if payment has already been made.

10. Warranty / Guarantee

All PICOTRONIC products are subject to strict quality control and are carefully checked before delivery. As a rule, we grant a 3-year warranty for our products, but at least the statutory warranty of 2 years, as long as no further warranty statements are enclosed with the product. The warranty expires if the product is outside of the specified technical specification, is operated or the housing is opened. In case of doubt, we reserve the right to have the manufacturer checked. If there is an unjustified warranty claim and the device has been operated outside of the technical specification, the manufacturer's testing costs must be borne in full.

11. Right of withdrawal

Every order can be withdrawn within 14 days of receipt of the goods. The revocation can be made in writing, in particular by email, or by returning the products. Deadline is sufficient for the timely dispatch. Sealed products must not have been unsealed. In any case, the producs must be in an unused and resalable condition and must be returned in their original packaging. If sealed products have been unsealed, they cannot be returned. We charge a reasonable usage fee for items that are affected by signs of use. In the event of deterioration or loss of the products, the reduction in value or the value of the products must be replaced.

12. Notes on laser protection

Due to the special properties of laser radiation and the resulting biological and physical effects, special protective and precautionary measures are required when using lasers. To determine the measures to be taken in each individual case, the lasers are divided into classes according to their hazard potential. The accident prevention regulation "Laser Radiation" BGV B2 and the DIN standard EN 60825-1 (VDE 0837 Part 1) are decisive for the division of the laser equipment into classes 1, 1 M, 2, 2 M, 3 R, 3 B and 4.
