The housing is made of 7075 aluminum and is black anodized for a long service life. Holosun AEMS combines a large field of view in a compact, lightweight package. AEMS has double the glass surface and is 11% shorter than standard 20mm micro sights, weighing only 110.5g. The optic has a built-in supercap. This additional power source allows the red dot sight to operate without a solar cell/light or battery, providing an additional backup of approximately 1200 hours of continuous use in dot mode (level 6).
